Maison de village St Paul de Vence

Fabulous and we highly recommend this apartment Positive: Amazing, recently refurbished accommodation in the artistic town of Saint Paul de Vence with medieval atmosphere. The house is also in a medieval stone building, but inside modern, with nice interior and everything what we needed in the kitchen for our short stay was available. Modern bathroom with big shower. We loved the little spiral staircase. From the first floor the window looked on to a narrow street but also with view to the nearby green hills and rooftops. Perfect location and easily accessible door code to the key. No problem to arrive late in the evening. Cars are not allowed within the city wall, so it is quiet but have to walk to your house with the luggage. It was not a problem for us at all. We enjoyed the apartment, the city, culture, galleries, food... everything. The only thing what we missed was a small food store to buy some food or drink for home. But we solved it with restaurants, brasseries, cafe's. Negative: We could not find some food store in walking distance within the city wall but we found other solution. People in the tourist office were really helpful we could even leave our small luggage with them for a few hours on the day of our return. Everything was exceptional during our short stay so we would happily return.

Acogedor, tranquilo y buen ambiente. Positive: El desayuno lo hicimos en el mismo alojamiento, con la compra de alimentos en un comercio próximo y la cafetera del alojamiento. La ubicación, fue céntrica, cómoda para nosotros, pero se requiere agilidad en subir escalones por parte de personas con movilidad reducida. Lo que me gusto más fue, el entorno tranquilo y el ambiente de restaurantes y comercios cercanos y poder ver cada día un recinto con una explanada de tierra y poder hacer juego de petanca y observar varios juegos tradicionales y mercados diferentes. Fue una reserva rápida por incidencia de otra y respondieron justo la reserva. Negative: Dormir en el sofá-cama. Necesita reparar, debido que esta mas elevado de un lado que el otro y en el momento de recogerlo, tenia dificultades.

We really enjoyed our stay the location is perfect, and the owners are very quick to respond. Positive: The location of the property was great, and it was clean and well looked after. We were also allowed to check in early due to us arriving early which we were really appreciative of as it meant we could drop our luggage and explore the village. Negative: We were given the wrong code for the lock box and we're unable to retrieve the key to enter the property, so encountered a delay whilst trying to contact the owners. There wasn't enough toilet rolls or hangers provided and it isn't ideal that you have to take out the rubbish when you leave as you are dealing with luggage etc... I think removing the trash and stripping the beds should be a job for the cleaner.

Very nice place, slight spartanic, bad communication between managing agency and booking.com Positive: I would give the house as such a 10, ok maybe a 9 because the facilities are minimalistic (e.g. no kitchen towel for when you wash dishes and want to dry your hands after using the kitchen sink). But the house as such is comfortable, and recommendable. a/c in bedroom works well. Spiral staircase from living area/kitchen to upper floor bedroom/bathroom will be challenging for people who cannot walk/climb very well, but then the whole village will be a challenge for them. Negative: There were quite a few communication problems between me, booking.com? and the company who manages the place: since I was going for a several day-long wedding and it was going to be very hot, I specifically asked for a good steam iron and board, and some minimal things for breakfast for the first day (bread, butter, tea, milk, enought potable water) which I would pay on top if necessary. I never got an answer. When weeks later, I called the number given in my reservation, it turned out that it was the proprietor's but not the agency's. The agent told me I should have gotten his number (I hadn't!) and that everything was under control, albeit just an electric iron, as he had emailed via booking.com ages ago. I never got this email. When I was looking for the house and key, I had to call the agent to ask how to let myself in. He said I'd gotten an email with detailed instructions and the code for the key box. I never got this, only an email from booking where it said "the key is in a box". There was no iron or board of course, and the (basically very friendly) agent said, I'd have to come to his house if I needed one: 25 minutes drive (probably far more because the entire area had been cordoned off by the police because of the UN Ocean Conference). After a long search I found my breakfast: 1x 1.5l water bottle, 4 tea bags, and some madeleines packed in plastic). The tv set has a message on the screen that the rates have not been payed, so it is blocked. I did not need it, just saying. On the last day, a very rude cleaning lady wanted to throw me out to get the flat cleaned. This time, I had really missed an email from booking saying I had to clear the appartment by 10a.m., which was my mistake because, I had given up reading booking emails by then, and did not expect her to appear at 10 sharp. That's my fault of course, and the agent kindly told her to come back aanother time, so thanks for that!
